Mitsubishi split system no display intermittent
Worked on a split system recently and it was working ok with a td of 12 degrees however in the past few months there has been an instance where the display on controller goes blank and does not come back on until mains power is reset via the outdoor isolator. Any ideas what could be causing the fault all interconnecting and mains and controller wiring has been checked for loose connections suspect faulty indoor or outdoor pcb ???

Hey

Cassette or Wall? Model Numbers?

Does it have a pair of switches which sense if the filter is in (cassette only) if they are knackered and not making correctly then it may kill the controller, not sure if it shows up an error code or flashes something on the display...or if it just goes dead, im going by memory!

IMOH if it was a PCB it would do it all the while...but only my opinion

model number? prove 12vdc supply.
also is there an external condensate pump that disables the power to the unit-that would cause the display to intermittantly fail? - would this be mr crook by any chance?

Faulty remote controller change it with another unit to see if fault moves to the other system

Hi its a Mitsubishi void indoor unit pead model series with condensing unit on roof and it's under the Mitsubishi electric umbrella r410a
I got the customer to press the test button twice on the wall mounted controller and the last known faUlt was e9 which is indoor/outdoor transmission error
Spoke to mitsi they said check s1 s2 and s3 interconnecting wiring making sure the s3 wiring neutral is not switched through the isolator if possible note this wiring runs into this isolator spur in the ceiling void near the void unit
Has anyone experienced this random problem or any ideas what might cause the problem

nah this was paul crook- same age - just saw the user name and thought ha- i went to openshaw coll 20yr ago teachers were paul hambleton ,dave watts and eddie fothergill- check the spur in the ceiling that s3 is thru crimped or terminal blocked(unswitched) and taped up to prevent any grounding- also if they used sy cable check the terminated ends where they cut the braiding-check for nicks- same for fp200 and swa- if its in flex/twin and earth - check the condenser to see if the cale has rubbed against the casing or the damaged- maybe test continuity to proove the cable is good
