so heres the problem we did not have the approved eal 32st oil for tranicold reefers so instead we filled up with eal arctic 68 which having read both oil description should be a good substitute but now all of a sudden many of the filter driers are blocking up can someone tell me if the new oil is to blame ?

many thanks in advance

I would imagine so ,the 32 and the 68 refer to the ISO Viscosity grade ,although both POE oil's they are different weights.

Hi Andy.
Basically as Stufus correctly points out the ISO No's refer to the oils viscosity. Therefore 68 is twice as thick as 32.
Say like trying to pass Oil through a Water Filter. You would logically get maybe an increased oil pressure?
But starve the oil return as the filters are blocking.

So logically You are correct in assuming the oil is the problem.

if its on frozen you need to change to 32 imediateley if its on chiller leave on 68 and adjust the quenchvalve a little to aid comp winding cooling leave it on 68 on frozen and it will kill the comp to thick and when winter comes it will be worse
