Hi, came across a freezer with a Dixell XR60CX controller. Condensor is icing up as the defrost is not working. Uses electrical defrost heater, and when defrost is on there is no power coming out defrost wire from controller. Thing is electrical drawing for controller shows 8 connections. 1=power in, 2=fan motor, 3=compressor, 4=power in, 5=neutral, 6=power to switch defrost, 7=defrost output and 8=NC.
There is nothing connected to 6, so wondering if I can bridge power from 4 to 6 without damaging controller. Other engineer fitted new controller so I dont know what happened with connection to 6. Either this needs power or power goes through controller and it is faulty.

Any ideas,

according to the wiring diagram 1 is live in 2 output to defrost element, 4 is evap fan 5 is compressor signal 6,7 is ur 240v supply- when manually defrosting ensure the controller displays the defrost symbol and listen to the click of the relay- if no click- whack it with a screwdriver handle as the relay is probably sticking-change the controller-job done

that wiring diagram is for the xr60c with the 20amp rated contacts-u said xr60cx,16amp contacts and either 240 or 12v control power, which is wired differently- but yes fit the link wire so live goes 1-4-6

Ok, bridged the 4 and 6 terminals and the freezer now defrosts.
