Tecumseh's Andy Schoen (formerly of Sporlan) has developed an all-new application for selection of capillary tubes. While it has yet to be included in their redesigned website, it is available now on line in a very basic, but fully functional format here (http://boxload.tecumseh.com/SelectCapTube.aspx).
I have used it numerous times since it's introduction some months ago and have found it to be the quite precise and extemely flexible. It includes all popular cap tube sizes, a huge selection of refrigerants, metric or English units, auto or manual selection and even has a function to include the effect of the length of heat exchange between the cap tube and suction line.
Check it out. I think you'll be impressed.
