Mitsubishi VRF Replacement

Hi Folks

I have a project to replace serveral Mitsubishi PURY P250 YMF C condensers with the new PURY RP 250 YJM-B condensers.

But my question is can we reuse the older series indoor units?

Mitsubishi seem very non-committal of the subject.

Has anyone got any experience of doing this?

All the replace systems I have commissioned so far have indoor units replaced to match R410a outdoor unit.

YMF-C was R407c with large glide & lower operating pressure than R410a
I suspect the indoor unit control stratagy was specific to R407c refrigerant

I appreciate the different gases and the perhaps different indoor coils but would it be feasible to change the indoor PCB's to allow the change of gas type? [Just thinking out loud]

I wouldn't recommend 407 equipment to run on 410 that's for sure

mitsi mr slim indoors have a spare suction flare nut and it states for 22,407,410 ?? universal- i always swap the complete unit-as any old indoor is gonna have a clogged evap coil

Pinching "Install's" customers, or the other way round?;)

Unfortunatly Mitsubishi have finally stated that the two are not compatable due to comms.

Richard the project would of course be subject to a strength and pressure test to gauge suitablity for r410a.
