Zanussi fridge freezer help required, fridge stops cooling every two weeks.

Hi all, I have a Zanussi integrated fridge freezer. Every two weeks on the dot the fridge fails to cool and returns to room temperature. The freezer works as normal.

If I turn the whole lot off in the evening then put it back on the following morning then it works fine again (for two weeks)

I have had the unit out and emptied the evaporator dish ontop of the compressor and left it off for 48 hours.

It's starting to drive the mrs round the bend now and is just out of warranty.

Does anyone have any pointers of where to start.

need to check thermal cut out and the heater

could be a bad defrost timmer, bad defrost heater, or the condensate drain could be plugged with ice. when you shut if off and over nite its ok, what you are doing is manualy defrosting it. that tells you that the defrost controles are not working.
