Hi guys,
Iv got an air cooled screw chiller (2 circuit) tripping on "low evap
Temp" . I know it has a correct refrigerant charge, Trane advised to change suction and superheat Sensors so we did. Suction and discharge pressures look ok,r134a.
Circuit 1 runs fine so I don't believe it's a water flow issue, when I watch the evap temp
During operation it does tend to jump around a bit..
Anyone had similar problems in the past?

Cheers
Justin

Hi Justin,
As your description is very poor let me have a guess.
1.You have sudden change of cooling load and EXV does not control well. Increase “LVG WTR temp control response time setpoint” or increase “EXV control response” of affected circuit. High values of EXV response for long period may fail the EXV motor.
2.Open and clean EXV orifice.

CV

Hi
you can do as cv said,i would also check wiring ,sudden jumps in temp sounds like a interference,
or bad connection, this fault could happen if your water sensors are faulty to.
good luck
