Hi all,
I am new to the refrigeration industry.
Can someone tell me what determines the pressure inside the evaporator ? They always say that the expansion valve has an orifice which causes a drop in pressure. Would that mean that depending on the size of the orifice, i would get a certain pressure in the evaporator ?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum Seadive.

Look at the expansion device as the tap above your sink, both will regulate flow.
Just like the opening in the tap doesn't (on it's own) regulate the water level in your sink, the expansion valve (or it's orifice) will not regulate the evaporator's pressure.

Happy New Year, everyone. :D

Every once in awhile, I wander off and get caught up on other things. In Australia, I think they call it going walkabout.

some other factors like ;expansion upstream pressure (condensing pressure),evaporating temp depending on load, compressor capacity relative to evaporator, right situation of equalizer and thermobulb, adjustment regulation of orifice.

I'm confused, as I always thought it was down to the amount of energy in the refrigerant
