HELLO!

I am having a bad day.

I have a faulty Klixon for a Unidad Hermetica GL99AA R134a which I would like to replace for a new one.

I've called several suppliers who either can't identify the Klixon form the numbers on it or who are asking for the compressor details or unit details, none of them can help so far.

Does anyone know of a good Klixon supplier or who can recommend a suitable alternative or better way of replacing them, compressor running current is about 2A, I just need something that will do the job.

Thank you.

Hi Contactor.

You are having a rough time up your way with winds also eh!
Anyway, a quick search has thrown up this which lists alternative comps.

I will try and dig deeper to find maybe a suitable Klixon supplier.

Dug a little deeper and this may help. From UH's site in spain it appears they are electrolux elswhere?

Thanks Grizzly, I've bought a universal relay in the interests of remaining sane (and saving time)!

You can let the compressor run for sometimes without the klixon, nothing should happened.
Best thing is to protect the compressor with a miniature circuit breaker rated just above the compressor currant draw, that will give you time to get the klixon you need and the compressor will run protected.

I agree with chemi, but would add that c/b be motor rated, or use a motor rated HRC fuse.

Small resetable motor current realys are availbale very cheap at Farnell-in-one. They deliver mostly for free within 24 hours.
GL99 is indeed an Electrolux compressor like Grizzly said. If you should live closer, I should say, you can have one from me for a coffee.
But I do the same as you did if Idon't have the right one in stock (i have at least 60 to 80 relays, clixons and cap's in stock): buying an universal one.

That compresorr has RSIR motor. You could use PTC instead of klixon.

What about a button stat say with a rating of about 120 deg, banded around the pot outside the terminal cover as a temporary fix?
