Hi Darren,

Seem like you'll have the leagal requirements covered with you F-Gas ticket etc, many companies want someone with a few years experience so you might find it difficult at the start. Stick with it though, a good friend of mine left the army around 10 years ago and has worked his way up to being a senior engineer working on chillers and on good money too!

What type of systems or area do you hope to specialise in? Where abouts are you in th UK?

Jon :)

Make sure that the work placement 2 weeks is with a feild service company, and get hands on experience with actual service calls.

Be pro-active and start with all the major corps JCI , Trane etc., go to their web sites and click on careers. Your big plus is 12 years experience and currents quals., here Navy guys never have a problem getting placements. Good luck.
