I was just talking with a copeland engineer the other day about these. These D scrolls are still in the testing. So you really can't order one from a supplier yet. However I did hear a few companies are using them. One out of Korea I think.

Best info is here https://www.emersonclimatecontractor.com/
After you register with them... use the "Detailed Product Information" link at the Top Right. Then publication search and type in "Digital Scroll"

Hi Rob:)
there available in the UK, networked scrolls, which are condensing units with two compressors on each unit. A number of these units are linked up to a commom suction and liquid line. A digital scroll is used on one unit to trim control the load.
Our branch has not fitted any yet, but if we do dare say I will probably be involved the the first few, have to train the poor buggers who will be working on them:D

Kind Regards Andy:)

copeland digital scroll is simple in concept. Korea and China have applied it in vrv AC. Midea and Gree have developed the product. I've contact the copeland engineer and know that this tech need many test to confrim key parameters, usually the product development are finished by both the manufacturer and copeland. The digital scroll is not in volume production. I think it need much effort to be an alternatives for VFD tech.

Looking at both the mechanical and electronic standpoint, Digital Scroll is much simpler than the VFD / Inverter systems because capacity modulation is purely a mechanical process unlike the inverter system which relies on electronics which compromises the reliability of your system.
