Is anyone else experiencing any issues with the circulating pump within the Daikin Altherma Hydro-Box unit, (pump failures etc)?

Cheers

Hi Mark0908,

I have experienced a few pumps failing within first year. Sounds like you have similar issues.
Be good to hear from any Altherma installers if they too have experienced pump failures.

We have had a couple of pump failures at the commissioning stage so have managed to replace them before handover. Most of the make used are Wilo pumps. Unfortunately if you contact Wilo to try to obtain them more quickly when out of stock at Daikin, you are advised that the particular model number is manufactured only for Daikin and not available elsewhere.

Hi Jase & hyperion,

Thank you for your replies.

I have had a few pump failures. A couple at commissioning and a number within the first year of installation.

That's correct hyprion, I have contacted Wilo regarding these pumps and they are quite tight-lipped about them!

Daikin have informed me that they have no stock of these pumps now, which has raised concern with me, and why I've asked the question.

Thanks again,

Mark

Just the help that we all need when the next breakdown is just around the corner!

Touch wood pumps have been fine but we have had thermistors, an immersion a back-up heater a controller and a fan impacting the casing all within very short time frames from commissioning.

No wonder Daikin's are cheap!

Hi Mark 0908,
We have had 3 failures in 6 years.
All series 16 system.
Two becoming stiff on the spindle, one with winding failure.
We have had no problem getting spares from Space Air.
