Hi All
I'm trying to find out what the capacity range is of an old Prestcold Condensing unit Air-cooled.
Model MALHW50X M9114. I could do with a selection/capacity table for it as I need to know what duty it will give me at different conditions it was on R22 originally.

If anyone has any old manuals or can point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

Many Thanks

You could try contacting Climate Center at Newbury as they were Prestcold agents and may have the information that you require.

If you downland this comparision table from Copeland you will find a cross reference to your Prestcold, two choices
http://www2.emersonclimate.eu/literature/eCopeland/EN_D050401_RGL_Prestcold_DWM_CU_0.pdf

Then download the Copeland data ...
http://web.mit.edu/parmstr/Public/hvac/compressor/Copeland/ssh_r404_50.pdf

This for one of the choices.

Have fun, with thanks to Google.

2 things can help you, 1. size and capacity of txv. 2. currant draw of the compressor.

Its a 5hp 0074 m3/sec comp, ester oil.

The book i have only lists for the B4 or C2 condensers, not the newer M9 one on your unit, the 114 designates a 11.4L reciever.

The MALHW50X-C2-114 are rated for evap temps with R22 from -20c to -40c,

-20c 8930w
-25c 7215w
-30c 5700w
-35c 4385w
-40c 3250w

This is in an 32c ambient, if it is warmer then the range is limited to -20c to -35c.

The B4 condenser is smaller so the duty is less and the temp range less also.

I have a customer with one of these units on a dx milk cooler and the only thing it does well is trip out on the klixon...
Might work better on a freezer with a CPR valve and a clean condenser.
