Nice to see you are back on form Brian.
You must have gone to a posh school as your pencil has a rubber (Eraser to others!)

Our daughter was intrigued to see a cassette tape only a couple of weeks ago. She is 15! As for records, they may as well be something from the Victorian era.

The TDK 90's were good but the BASF 120 chrome were excellent. They all were prey to the cassette munching player or changed shape when left exposed under the windscreen:rolleyes:.

I seem to vaguely remember that the cassette recorders recommended to use no more that 90's? Why was that? Didn't stop us getting the extra value from 120's though.

Easier for my cat to pull the tape out of.

Remember putting sellotape over the pulled out tabs once you had got bored with the latest recording?

Ha, i used bits of cardboard and squeezed em in. Forever cleaning the head and pinch roller of muck buildup. Cotton bud and metho worked well.

Now I remember from the dim past, the pencil was not just to identify the music, it was to turn the cassette to get to the exact spot when you wanted to splice the tape (as I used to do)

And when the tape wound too tight to play, i used the pencil to try and loosen it up. Usually ended up taking it apart and dropping the felt pad, along with other fiddly bits :(.

It's for rewinding the tape. INstead of using the battery of our walkman , maybe it was faster too !!
