Hi Guys,

We seem to be getting a lot of negative posts on certain makes of a/c. I have put this poll on the field to see what engineers like and don't like. More to the point WHY do you like or dislike a certain brand

Personally, i think you tend to choose whatever you work on most. Over the years i have come across most of the big boys and don't think there is a lot to choose between any of them, all have their good and bad points but prove me wrong

My favourite is definetly Daikin.

Mitsubishi Electric are my second choice.

It all boils down to ease of installation back up service, and general operation.

Cant comment on Hitachi (if i dare..:D ) Haven't installed or worked on many.

Hi Guys,

Got to admit i went do Daikin, Although this is what i work most on now. Reliable and good technical support (Weve got Frank) what more do you meed
Mitsi electric OK but seem to get a lot of drain faults
Mitsi Heavy - Nightmare backup
Fujitsu - OK Basic and simple
Toshiba - Does the job OK
Carrier - Seem overley complicated
LG,Samsung and sharp - never worked on

Havn't got anything REALLY bad to say about any of them

Hi,
I preferred CARRIER cos only the "CARRIER MAN CAN".:D
But I can see Carrier had a very wide range of models of fan coil, ceiling cassette,AHU, condensing units etc. for different application and selection. They have square, over and all sorts of shape to suit every application.Find that TOYO CARRIER control wiring much better than CARRIER Syracuse.:)

Daikin is my first choice, for situations where it will be run 24/7, straight forward and logical installation.

Tosh in domestic applications, good to install and the styling is better than many.

Sanyo for offices and shops, again nice to fit and seem to be reliable

Sunday I fitted a GL to my sisters conservatory ( it had been lying at the back of my garage for quite some time and I just wanted rid of the thing), and I had a refresher in why I dont fit them anymore.

in regards to simplicity then its got to be the new daiken units ,light weight, easy to install and pretty much idiot proof ,does exactlay what it says on the tin.

Hi Marc:)
Diakin are the largest in the world, then Sanyo and Toshibia (at least thats what the man from Toshibia said).
Hitachi I have never seen or worked on, but then I don't usually work on that type of A/C.

It can be the best system in the world, but until it has market coverage people won't know unless they have worked on it.

Kind Regards Andy:)

It looks like Daikin just edged ahead of Hitachi. But looking back now I realise I could have predicted that.

this is racing to the introduction of a glorious new "hindsight tech method" style book no doubt.

It is not esential which producer of AC is the best it depends mainly on tehnical suport for the product.Good educated, wiling to help at any time.In my country there is not such a distributor so it isnt mater who produce what we mount over heare.

it depends mainly on tehnical suport for the product.

I think that the kit has got to be reliable in the first place.

Good, reliable kit, installed correctly shouldn't need technical support.

So my vote goes for - - - - -N :)

As frank has pointed out Daikin win hands down and as the old saying goes you get what you pay for. As far as technical help is concerned i class it to be the lazy engineers helpline eh can you tell me what a E0 fault code is please. Any engineer worth his salt will already have the fault codes for daikin/mitsi/tosh/sanyo. I think its too easy to phone for tech help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on wheres the fun in someone telling you what the problem is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
