Just thinking, will a fin comb sort this out or do I have a bigger problem?

The only way to find out is to give it a try. Be very gentle on the fins.

The middle point is less important as the fan blades dont suck air in the center.

OMG
What did that?
A fin comb would be as much use as a conventional comb on my head!

Nice one Glenn.

The damage was caused by the fan motor brackets failing and allowing the fan to fall into the condensor. The centre boss bored its way into the tubes.
£2500 for a new unit plus the labour, oh and 24kg of 404 and new fan motor assembly.
As I believe in clearing site after I`ve finnished I`d better drop the old condensor off at a nearby scrappy.

Bugger that, i'd remove the fins to expose damaged copper and repair it. If pipe is not badly damaged, as in squashed flat, then i'd heat the copper and attach yellow tip solder, let it cool, then with pliers pull on it till pipe regained shape. might not look nice but it saves replacing it.
