Hi Alan.
Have you tried J&E Halls online.
As far as I know they still supply spares.
They are having wharehouse clearance sales on many of their spares at the moment includind V178 spares.

Hi Grizzly,
J & E Hall compressors, recips, are they still being manufactured. They were made to last a long time. Still come across 5 x 4 recips plugging away at low revs, still doing the job and probably 40 years old.

Hi Magoo.
I can't tell you exactly when production of the V block series was stopped.
They first launched them in 1950 and yes there a still loads around all over the world.
Especially in cold stores and breweries.
Their spares are still available till when I do not know?
Maybe someone can advise?

Hello Grizzly and Magoo

We are very close to Halls but cost and delivery on shafts is big and long.

We need a compressor or shaft soonest.

The machine which failed is 34 years old and its still on R22.

Solution is either another compressor second hand, a rebuild which is hard graft as this has seized or retrofit
with a pair of screws.

Alan

Hi Ranger

Thanks for your reply.

Looks like customer may be biting the bullet and accepting a recommendation to go with 2 screw units compounded.
and also retrofit to R404A from R22.

Alan
