Engineer of site with Freezing up Caravell Upright Fridge

Been out to this R134a Upright fridge twice, and have installed a new thermostat.
The manual capilary type.

The original fault was it was freezing up over night.

After instlling 1st repalcement stat it did the same so engineer changed it for another stat and still its freezing up over night.

The compressor clicks on and off on the stat.
Engineer cant work it out and is back there for the 3rd time in 3 days,

Any Ideas ?

Door seal?

Check the door for sealing with a sheet of thin paper. Close the paper in the door
and pull the paper out. If it is hard to pull out the seal is good, if it falls out the
seal is bad.

Door gaskets fail after a while and this could complicate the problem.

check the gas charge,ensure the coil is clean,fit a defrost timer to manually defrost ie off cycle with evap fan running.fit a ranco stat which has an adjustale setpoint and diff.make sure the door automatically closes from every open position

because the comp clicks of and on on stat you can assume its wired correctley, you need to check the temp of cab first to sea what temp its doing, as above said check seals and df clock if it has one and is the condensor clean? is cab designed for the temp you require some of the caravelles are a bit lightweight and if need fit a timeclock, you say it only does it at night is this due to a high ambient in shop maybee? also check evap fan works all the time on a caravell they continually run

Ok its sorted, thanks for all the replies and advice.
The Caravell is a Tropical Fridge as its kept in a basement at night it reaches 30 degrees.

Now this fridge requires a special stat, we were using a universal one from HRP.
We got a Danfos stat from RPW, installed it, and now everything is fine, it dosent freeze up over night.

What about that then !
