Daikin L5 fault

Hi guys had a callout in the early hours to a daikin casset with L5 fault showing on control went to outdoor compressor red hot, did an inverter check no lights come on the inverter checker had 120 -130 volts to compressor . Was told unit was running very load like a drill before it fault . I would say inverter and compressor has gone, has any one eles come across this was thinking of changing out door pcb as well any help thanks Paul

l5 compressor overcurrent,u have to change the inverter board when changing the compressor to get 12mth warranty, a good way of getting stung for about £1300,but it gaurentees that the compressor will run after the heartache of degassing changing pot pressure testing,vaccing and recharging

Thanks was thinking of doing that custom was asking about costing for replacing out door unit, not sure of cost but it would be alot easier to replace unit going to ring daikin on the costing

was the installer d1 then it may be covered under 5yr warranty,and u get £40 labour allowance for a compressor swap

Yeah we did the install 3years ago we r d1 with daikin we have to check with daikin in morning costumer said they would like new outdoor, can see what he means the work changing pot and inverter is alot
