Hi,

are there any statistics available to understand the main causes of compressor failures? is it more electrical failures or mechanical failures?

I appreciate your help.

Thanks

I don't know about statistics but in most cases its down to electrical failure.

The compressor failuer depends upon its application
every compressor has its own limit of application, depend upon the working
they will sustain.
What i found is most damges are from electrical part in semi hermetic compressors

liquid slugging is a good second, especially for refrigeration.

Thanks for your replies. Can you please classify the electrical failures you are referring to? single phasing / low or high voltage etc?

Electrical failures - Electric Motor failure, mostly due to " winding failure " or " bearing failure " .
