Hi all,

We are developing a new technology that requires a refrigerant to evaporate at -105 C. I have modeled a small cascade with CF4 (R14) or NF3 evaporating at -105 C and condensing at -50 C against the second refrigeration loop which is boiling at -55 C. The second refrigeration loop is being modeled as R13.

My primary reason for choosing these components is a lack of data on other refrigerants, but if I get some good recommendations from you experts I'll be able to purchase the information required.

It is a requirement that the cold refrigerant condense at -55 C because eventually the warm refrigerant loop will be replaced with melting CO2.

I see that Ethane could be used at the cold refrigerant. Would that be preferable to R14 or NF3? I've already have one refrigeration specialist poo-poo R14..
