Hi,
Ive got 4 quotes in to install aircon in our open plan office. The quotes vary widely in capacity and price and I am trying to find out which installer knows what he's are talking about.

Office is 450m3 (peaked ceiling), 15 PCs and 15 people.

One quote specd in 12.5kw of Mitsubish kit at £8650
One quote specd in 30kw of Daikin kit at £13000

I am guessing the cheaper quotes havent taken people and PCs into account.

I get that Daikin are the mutts nuts, but can anyone suggest any cost effective alternatives? Reliablilty has to come before price.

Many thanks in advance.

.

I have just quickly thrown some numbers into a calculator based on 20 people
and terminals and came out with 35Kw so th Daikin quote seems to be sized ok.

But other factors include windows and which direction they face. A window is a
big heat source and one facing south will be far greater than one facing north.

If no windows are fitted then the numbers make sense.

As for the costs it would be very dependant on where the systems were going
to be located in respect to the inside and outside units. Then the kit itself.

Get the contractors to quote for the same job but using differant kit and
get more than 2 quotes. Get 4 or 5 and explain that you will be comparing
the quotes like for like.

All the best

Ps based on my calculator 20 people and terminals only equates to 5 Kw so
sombody has got their sums very wrong.

Are you in the Uk or Australia? Funnily enough it does make a difference, what can be fitted? Wall mounts or cassettes? Have you three phase available on site, is the office on the ground or 30 stories in the air?? This is just some of the information we as competent and professional installers require.....One big thing that would affect a price given by me (once all the above has been sorted with a site visit), can you pay a substantial deposit to secure the installation??

Not meaning to offend you but please give us some more info, if you can't then don't expect serious answers.
