Guys I'm having a problem with the standby on this unit. When I plug it into 1 phase the overload switch trips when the compressor engages. The compressor turns freely by hand so I don't think that its locked up. What could be causing this? I'm stumped.

If I remember right the overload can be adjusted(you can adjust curent at witch it disengages). You could try to run the motor alone without compressor(remove the belt)

Tweaked the overload switch and it seems to be working now. Will overvoltage on the overload shorten the life of the micro? Thanks for the help.

how long is the power cord you are using and what guage is it because its a common problem people make with single phase units.

Standby cable?

Pitted contacts in the contactor is another

check for volt drop across the contactor
