Hi All,

I have to put in a price for a small wall unit in an office ,
The only thing is they are looking for something that looks nice and not the standard white wall units.

I was thinking about the LG art cool but I have had problems with LG in the past and dont know if its worth giving them another try.

Or should I just stick to the mitsubishi units which I know I can rely on ?

Regards

Chris

We recently fitted 9 at a hotel and they have been in a couple of months with no problems at all

The art cool range is their best and possibly the most reliable. I can only remember one outdoor fan motor failing out of all the ones we have fitted over the years..

I agree with richard, bear in mind LG are the only ones doing this type of unit, it wouldnt be good for sales if they were unreliable. i have fitted them and had no problems.

for what its worth, we have been servicing a buildind with four lg floormount / splits.
we di not fit then and they are the olny lg's we have on our books .
they live in a salt laden air at times, outdoors not bad ( must be six years old at least )
they work and work well.
having said this , and tempted fate , may get a call tommorow ones gone bang .
they are not realy used in anger, but always perform.

Daikin do a Silver wall mount with a motorised flat panel front which lifts up on an angle when operating.

Mitsi Elec do a new wall unit in Black & Silver called Zen.

Would choose both of these over LG anyday!

Found the Daikin silver unit (UX1 or Prestige) and the Mitsi Zen unit. Both look slick like the LG Mirror cool, but with better reliability. Only problem is that I can only find on Euro and Asian Web sites.

Does anyone know if they're available in the US? I called a couple of local installers and they didn't have a clue (I'm in Florida and these units are still relatively new down here).

I quite like LG units in general mainly because customers recognise the brand and they sell themselves. Having said that, I've had two remotes not work from the start (changed quickly but took a day) and one indoor fan blade disintergrate on initial start up, covering my customer in shards of plastic (that went down well).
