problem running the compressor

we've tested our inverter circuit on an industrial fan. its working as if it was turned on by an outlet. then we've tested our inverter circuit on a small refrigerator. it wasn't working. we also used an ammeter to measure the circuit, it only read 1.1A max our dc rail is around 315V. is there a way to get to 4.5A? we used the igbt irg4pc50ud in our h bridge circuit
