Hi Guys,

I have a 18000btu split unit, the condenser fan is not working on cooling cycle,
the compressor comes on, the solenoid has power, the indoor blows.

i have changed the capacitor, the p.c. board & electrical board, but this does not help,
i tested the unit in heating mode, the fan comes on immediately & seems to operate
ok, problem is i cannot fill with gas to the right pressure?

any ideas out there?:o

If you already changed the pc board then check and/or change the condenser temperature sensor.

Does the fan have a multi-speed motor? If so check all of the windings, maybe the cooling side uses different winding to the heating cycle.

are you weighing in the gas , then can you not gas it up on heating mode? sedgy ,

Hi Guys,
thanks for the replies, it seems the unit had a gremlin inside! if i replace the electrical components one by one + the sensors, the unit fan still does not operate, when i replace all the components together, the unit runs 100%
i have tested now for a whole day on heating & cooling, no problems.
