I have had a new customer this week just start a new engineering business, he asked me to look at his old PURY-250YMF (R22) City Multi to see if I could get the thing going for opening next month!!!
I'm having the problem that the main board will come on for a second then cut off again, relays will also click and the condenser fans will also cut off and on with this. Does anyone have literature for this unit? its very old (PRE 1999) with the four condensing fans. Please help!! haha

sorry cant help, but as fate would have it, we cut one of those units up two or three weeks ago, as part of a replacement programme .
there will be others replaced in the future, there are about 4 left which still run.
i would not like to guess how much for a board if even possible to get one.

Do you have a MN Convertor with Maintenance Tool?

I would suggest looking at the primary voltage, phase and grounding.

Have you been to the training course?

Does anyone know if the Design Tool software will work on these older models? If DT does work, do a design tool to ensure that the attached models are compatible with the ODU.

Maybe isolate the ODU from the MNET to see if the ODU will sit idle.

You may have a software issue

When switch on 3 ph power to outdoor unit if the outdoor circuit board does not show any display then you may have a dead short on the Mnet control wiring daisy chain to the indoor units.
Suggest
1/ disconnect the Mnet control wiring at M1 M2 at the outdoor unit & measure the dc voltage. This should be 30v dc.
2/ connect the Mnet control wiring at M1 M2 at the outdoor unit. If the voltage is zero then there is a dead short which you will need to locate.

I find this problem from time to time when commissioning normally due to some wiring mistake.

I just repaired one with a conversion to R407c using original compressor. The conversion was carried out by Mitsi themselves and after consultation with them, they were amazed it was still operating, considering it was manufactured 1997 and converted around 2005/6.

check for a stub at base of compressor, it will indicate whether a conversion has been performed and also advise if compressor oil has been changed to suit new requirements #justsaying
