Hi all,

Can anyone advise how to determine the percentage of glycol to water ratio in order to get certain temperature

Secondly, based on the calculated capacity, how do we determine wat is the evaporating temperature to select compressor

Thanks for all your help.

You can refer to refrigeration handbook to determne the glycol ratio related to the operation temp. The evaporative temp and capacity is decided by your application requirement(e.g food storeage\air condition\industrial etc). Maybe I can offer more if you more specific.

Dear LC,

Cooling cap of 232 kW, Propylene Glycol
Ent/ leaving temp : -5 / -10 deg C
(i think PG with 39% of which having freezing point of -20 should be enough)

Plate heat exchanger with 5 kTD across glycol and R22 circuit.

Perhaps I can use -20 deg C as SST to select a multi-compressor set?

On Glycol side, i'm planning to have one expansion tank and one mixing tank. To use expansion tank is because the system is not of 24 x 7 days duty. They off it during weekend.

Please comment on this..
