Its the first time I hear about 410 being used in dryers, is that what the manufacturer originally used?

For your question, hot compressor is lack of cooling, means, it short of returning gas. Could be undercharged, blocked drier or whatever, leak in the system.

is the condenser coil clean-ie between the fins. a clean condenser can lower head pressure, reduce compressor temps and improve performance

Usually driers have a hot gas injection valve, if over feeding can cause the overheating problem.

i`ve not seen any driers with r410. As chem-cool says it could be low on gas, there again maybe condensor problems. Dryers can be strange things, you`d think being low on gas would cause the DP to go up. it will when the refrigerant gets too low but until that piont is reached it could even freeze up, then as more refrigerant is lost the DP wil go up.
