Great attitude. Given his location and the fact he is using 410 shouldn't we give help and encouragement?
Charge as a liquid as the refrigerant is a blend, you will need gauges specifically for 410a as it runs at higher pressures than conventional gases, other than that not much difference to other gases.

use gauges!

Location has nothing to do with it. Unless you believe they don't train engineers out there?

Location has everything to do with it, whilst euprope and other participating countries/continents are investing heavily to reduce harmful emissions from CFCs and HFCs Dubai is one of the worst countries using CFCs, so when an engineer asks for advice on the use of a refrigerant that helps us all, surely it's in all our interests,
As for training, I'm sure every time a new refrigerant or compressor or component comes on to the market you bring all your engineers in for training, my arse you do.
Have you never been in need of a little guidance? of course you haven't, as I see all your posts on this forum are giving advice rather than asking for it.

If you have been trained in refrigerant handling you can handle refrigerant. I don't know anything about this guy, he could be a member of the public for all I know so I don't condone web based specialist 'free advice' (which is potentially a legal minefield ask Abe) unless the recipient is proven worthy or trained sufficiently.

I have my 2079, yet I can't work with ammonia or C02, they're refrigerants after all?

hi,

i would also like the basics on charging the system, my heat pump uses R410a, on data badge is written refrigerant charge 1450g
do i weigh the them on scale !

as gas engineer no clue :o

connect gauge to liq port of bottle ,ideally your charging hose is vaced out already so no purging is req.
place gas on scales and record weight, zero your scales, open gauge to fill system whilst monitering the scales,u can get approx 1/2 the charge into the system with it off, start the system in test cooling and throttle the manifold to slowly charge the system, once scales show -1450grm then close manifold - note; check the install manual for any additional charge due to longer piperuns. the 1450grm is for runs upto 7 or 10mtr depending on manufacturer

please some consideration for my engl.
i have a problem; inverter r410 12000 Btu
ived changed the 4-way valve and the pressure in heating wont pass 12bar. i dont think the valve and the amount of gas is the problem. maybe ived skip a step in charging or done it wrong, but ived charge it like ivd always done.
i dont now???!!!!; perhaps ace accumulated in the compresor / of pipes, deposits from welding?

each bounced idea is welcome

you charge 410 the same as all other gases. has stronger fitting and hoses . if you get a leak , you need to start again . it shouldn't really be topped up if you loose more than errrm 500grams. because its a blend !

That's because they have there own separate Qualifications.
For a good reason, which I am sure you fully understand.

James you are offended because as you say you are only trying to help!

But RB is entitled to his opinion also.
Kibosho is a gas engineer in this country, Should we be advising him?

There are more and more posts that are making a mockery of " Our" perception of 2079.

As it was originally sold to us, whereas it is really only a starting point now.

A bit like a driving license is in this country, which if you remember was not as it was presented to our industry.

Incidentally as was pointed out to me once, legally.
You don't need any formal training to work on Ammonia Plant.

You would be stupid to do so though don't you think?

As for Co2 I will request some formal training before I go near it.

it was the 4-way valve; you could fill 50% of gas and the aircondition works, everything is great. As soon as it filled more than 50% the valve becomes somehow blocked!?
