Dear All,

In our building, 2 X 500 RT Trane centrifugal chillers (just installed) are poor efficiency at 1.6 to 2.6.
Building load is average 100 RT and cooling towers and pumps are controlled by VSD.
I would like to know its because of low building load or anyway to increase efficiency.?

Please advise.!:) Thanks.

Centrifugals are most at 100% loaded capacity, your system seems to oversized to the max., no short answer when base load is 100TR and chiller is rated at 500TR. One chiller will idle along being totally inefficient. Sounds like a design error somewhere in supply contract.

wow u got 3.5 MW for a just 350 KW capacity? that is some huge mistake on the calculation, even one chiller is more then enough.I will say its time your boss to talk to the guys that made this mistake and ask them how they gonna fix it.Or you don't telling the whole story, like for example the calculation based up on future expand to your facilities to meet the demand of 3,5MW, because simply i cant believe this huge mistake has been made from TRANE, NO WAY, and BTW i am YORK TECH, but never say never.
Good luck with it
