hotpoint ice diamond rfa52 keeps iceing up the fridge.

hi , i have a hotpoint ice diamond fridge freezer rfa52 and since my lad left the door open on the fridge it keeps freezing everything in the fridge. weve changed the stat and ive defrosted it but no joy just more frozen milk! it seems as if the compressor is running all the time? thanks for reading Dan.

It seems, or, is it running all the time indeed?
Maybe, because of high current when the fridge worked open, the relay contact get soldered.
