Just wondering what sort of tool bags people are using ????

I am after a sturdy one that is pretty lightweight but won't snap after 2 weeks. Tried the CK ones, the technicians toolcase (zips and shoulder strap are rubbish) and also tried the rucksack (on my second and the shoulder strap stiching has come out again)

Any recomendations???

Hi majikman
I am glad you asked the question cause I think I've got the very best! It's a caterpillar wheelie bag with backpack straps (comfy too). I did over 100kMs walking with it. I call it BoBo like a little puppy that follows me everywhere. With the wheels it really saves my back as I do a lot of walking on site. When not using my tools for work it doubles as a laptop bag + a few tools, then when I go shopping it's a shopping bag. I just love it. I have even gone on overseas trips with it twice. Check CAT Explorer 15.4" on a search engine. I also use the cat boots. great for when you need hands free or don't want to carry a load for a fair distance especially when I've got a ladder in one hand and the wheelie bag on the other. I can't rave enough about this thing and got mine delivered for less than AUD$100

i am using a Stanley "Fat Max Backpack", has space for a note book, just enough hand tools and a hard base, does the job for me after trying many at both ends of the price scale

I've got an old metal britool tool box i used on farms, its been welded up a couple of times, and needs chucking or welding again.

I've got a facom tool bag like this one for non farm customers,

And a makita tool pouch like this one for carrying a few tools onto a roof or loft etc,

Stanley owns Facom so some of their tool bags are similar, there is a Stanley version of the one i have but without the cover so its open all the time, they make two sizes.

The ck cases have been improved now with stronger zips and a hard bottom, the Plano rucksack is great to get it from rs and you get a 1year garentee with it

Have something like the Makita Jon has but not as tough. Really annoys me when it keeps falling over and spilling contents around the back of the ute.

I like the look of this.

I prefer omsething like the backpack as when you have a apir of ladders and various other things it's easier to carry around site.

The CK backpack is great apart from the shoulder stitching straps are poor quality.

Yeah I have tried the new ck cases but find the new zips still as poor. I like the hard bottom on them though.

I am seriously considering getting a case with wheels on but they aren't as mobile as I'd like. Okay when you just have to work on one unit but if your filter bashing for the day with multiple units they are a bit of a pain to drag around.

Try the 'Veto Pro -Pack'.
Very sturdy and good space for tools.
