What do others use to clean say a shaft seal kit before oiling it up?

Also what to clean condensing units not the condenser i use coil clean for this but the whole condensing unit plastics and paintwork etc? Some degreasers leave a white residue when dry i dont like this and coil clean seems to react whith some paintwork and its hard on tools. Whats the good stuff out there?

Have you tried domestic kitchen or bathroom cleaners?

For degreasing metals i use automotive brake cleaner, you would need to be sure its ok to use on rubber parts etc.

For condensing units i use EnviroCoil coil cleaner, not had a problem with plastic parts or leaving marks, i make a point of rinsing it well.

My employer has an account with refrigeration wholesalers only, so i have not tried domestic kitchen and bathroom cleaners.

I use 4x coil cleaner monkey spanners i will try this envirocoil clean.

Not sure if you can get it over there, but there is a product of the same name available in the USA made by Hydro Balance, might be the same stuff or just a coincidence.

For shaft seal faces methylated spirits is good.

Truck wash is also good for general oil & grease .

I use hand cleaner for condensing units and chillers - put a little on a wet scrubbing brush and scrub, then rinse with water from a spray bottle, finally use a damp cloth to wipe down. This works great.
As for the shaft seal I use the same stuff used for a burnout clean up - I'm pretty sure this stuff is refrigerant.
Use rubber gloves with the solvent and hand cleaner to protect the hands and help keep them in good condition for feeling other things, otherwise the skin gets hard and tough. Then use a hand softener cream.;)

I find metho is better as you can drink it after a job well done installing clean shaft seal.

Others cellibrate with soft hands.

RANGER1 that's only if you filter the metho through a loaf of bread first. I like to keep my hands soft for when I touch and feel my lady (LOL).
