I've fitted an Eliwell EM300 Digital thermometer to a blast chiller and from the word go it's read E1 wich is the high temp alarm.
The cabinet temp was 22Degrees when I turned it on so it may have had every right to go off. Looking through the manual there is no access to the HAL and LAL or ALDelay perameters, though it does list them in the manuals parameters table? am I missing something here or have I got a dodgy Controller from new? All I can get into is the CNF and DIS parameters?

But it says it's a PTC probe required?? You can also change between PTC and NTC in the DIS parameters anyway so I don't think it makes that much difference, besides a probe fault would read AH1.

E1 fault is a probe fault.

If its got two probes, make sure they are both the same type, this has caught me out before :o

Right'O guys.
My first thought was a probe fault but when I looked in the manual it says E1 is a hight temp alarm and AH1 is a probe fault though you would think it would be vice versa. Dodgy F*****g manual!!!
I don't use Eliwell all that much as you can probably tell.

Cheers guys!

Hi BigGreenFridge
You can change the type of sensor by going to folder "CnF" and parameter "H00" BUT having changed the setting you have to switch the control off and back on for it to register. This is the only parameter where you have to switch off
Good luck

Cheers len,
I meanf "CnF" above not the "Dis" perameter. I hadn't realised about the swithing off bit though? going back today to try this.

After setting another type of probe, you must switch off an on again power supply. Isn't mentioned in most manuals.
