Hello!

My question is: can i use r-404a compressor for R-23 circut?

Proably yes if you use a sturdy one with the same capacity. Most of the compressors for R23 and other cascade refrigerants are not specific made for those applications due to the market is to small.
You should be aware of the oil. Most makers of refrigerant R23 tells that you have to use Ester oil.
If it is used earlier, check what type and you may be have to change the oil.
The brand of units I work with use Zerol 150T on systems with R23/R503/R508A-B and the synthetic works as good, but not too smart if you use it on an old system with Ester oil.
The best compressor I have seen for second stage was a commercial aircondition compressor with 150T oil!
They made 20Years of hard duty with always a negative suction pressure condition. (ABS 0,6)

I agree.

It will work. I've already used R404 compressors for R23 and R1150 without problem. I've only got problems with oil freezing at -130C with R14.
