can someone guide me how to start my project...
i need to cool down the water from 30c to 15c with around half an hour...

here is the size for the cold water bank
length 65ft
wide 2.6ft
deep 1.5ft

cooling capacity calculation?
sizing for the compressor? or cooling system..
and what is the different between chiller and low temp compressor?

thanks...:)

Hi ah fai
You have posted enough to know how to use our search system so please use it.
You will use the formula Q = M * SHC * TD, W = J/s and a few others.
A Chiller is generally referred to a water cooler and Low temp comp generally is a compressor used to cool product below freezing temp.

thanks.. and can u show me about the formula?
Q=?
M=?

Q=MC(DELTA T)

Q is what you are looking for total btu or kW
M is the mass
C is the coefficient

Therefore Q= ((((65ft*2.6ft*1.5ft)*7.5gal/ft3)/20lbs/gal) *1) (86F-59F) (Sorry started with the size in feet so I just kept the units the same)
(M) (C) (delta T)
Q= (38025)(1) (27)
Q=1026675BTU/12000 = 85TR

you want it in a half an hour so I would double the tonnage

I understand that the water pumps sucks the water that is at beginning at +30ºC then it downs its temperature for +25ºC (for example) then it returns to the water tank where it mixes it the existing water and so...so it will gradually down its temperature. Is that it?

Is is that so have in account that you should size your compressor and heat exchanger to a water temperature of about +20ºC because at the beginning the compressor give more capacity due to higher suction pressure and at the end will delivery less capacity due to lower suction pressure.
