I charged a fridge to the correct charge according to my gauge and it would not cool anything. I then charged it with the frost on the suction line method. This took a few day but now the fridge seems to be working great. My only concern is that when it is running the compressor is always in a slight vacuum -5 psig. What would cause this to happen and should I be concerned about it?

What was the problem on the fridge in the first place? Charging by that method can hide problems, such as capillary restriction or drier restriction. Adding more gas builds pressure on the high side to force more refrigerant through... Yep, should be a concern. Using R134a?.. Mike.

On 134 systems, always replace the dryer first.
R-134 is a cleaning agent and blocks the dryer very quick.
