AN ongoing saga ..... can anyone tell me what electrical kit is needed for a Prescold K100-17 2 cylinder ..
I need to replace run and start cap and probably the relay. but unable to read any of the print on the caps or the relay. Testing the caps gives nonesense readings.
My wholesalers tell me this is all obsolete now and don't have the relevant info so I can source the parts individually.

I was assuming the run cap might be 15mF; Start cap 160mF relay ?

Annoyingly, I used to have a library of Prescold tech data but binned it .... never thinking might be useful one day!

Can't help with the individual components but Climate Center detail an electric pack for the K100, shown on page 219 of their 201 catalogue. Might be worthwhile a phone call.

13mf & 185mf spring to mind I have a couple of these old beauties still running and have used universal potential relays with pickup and drop out voltage that's adjustable.
I do not think the OE stuff is available any more

Yup you're quite right but they say it's no longer available and obsolete ... I should have said I already tried them.

Thanks anyway.

Possibly ... I think these machines were superceded by Copeland Discus and may possibly have simillar characteristics... if so I might be able to match up that way.

The universal relay seems a good option.

Thanks for the input.

You should be able to get a set of electrics from a compressor remanufacturer.

Jon :)

Any compressor rebuilder can give you the answer and most probably the parts you need.

I would have agreed with you there but, the one (well known) where I'm getting the rebuild from could only guess what he thought might be ... he didn't inspire much confidence.
