I work for a company making custom serving equipment and have made a cold pan we will use in various sizes that will be built into cafeteria serving lines. The pans are sized to hold 1-through 6-hotel pans, each with a capacity of 12"x20"x6". We are having troubles predicting the BTU requirements for these.

We began using the CalcRite software and our early results with the small sized cold pans proved to be acceptable.

All have 6-turns of 3/8" copper tubing in close contact to the stainless steel pan with a thermal mastic to help increase the heat flow.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

For Coldplates use 110btu per sq ft at +10f sst.
Can't go wrong.
