Hi,

can i change the YORK E refrigerant Oil for YAEP Chiller Compressor.

i checked and its not available in QATAR. can i change it with 5GS?

i am just worried that it will not damage the compressor in future?

Thanks,
Kamran.

What refrigerant are you running on? The York oils are specific to the chillers, hence the various types.

Have you had the oil tested, or has it leaked? It may be that it's ok.

Kamran.
4GS would be better or indeed any multi-purpose Mineral oil

we are changing the oil for PM, as its not been chnaged from last 2 years. So GRIZZLY, shall i go for 4GS?

i got following info from another forum.

I test a lot of York C oil from chillers. It is a 300 SUS oil.

I have the following information listed you may find useful:

York A is a 300 SUS oil that is equivalent to Capella WF-68,
York B is an additized blend if two non-refrigeration oils (never seen a sample from the field),
York D is a 150 SUS oil that is equivalent to 3GS or Capella B,
York E is a 500 SUS oil equivalent to 5GS,
York F is a 150 SUS oil equivalenmt to 3GS.

York G, H, J, O, P and S are all POE lubricants, typically made by CPI. The Frick oils normally match up with one of the York oils as well.

The above does not completely tally with the info I have, however.
E is indeed Sus. 500.
Is 5gs mineral or synthetic?
I believe 4gs is mineral and therefore I assume cheaper?
The ultimate choice is yours!

but both will not damage the compressor operation in future and its efficiency? 5GS is mineral & i preffer it as its SUS is same & i think its better. but my concern is that i dont face any problem in operation.
