They're supposed to be 5/16, but there are some out there with 1/4. I was looking at some 410a guages on ebay and they had 1/4 hose connectors on them. I have heard you can get 1/4-5/16 adaptors for the hoses. I think its a bad idea as the wrong kind of guages could be connected to 410a.

All 410a Service connections are 5/16 .It was part of the scary stories that accompanied the launch of the refrigerant that was going to save the planet.
Dont use gauges for 22 they will blow up and kill you!!! and anyone else within 2 miles ETC ETC
With regard to Mitsu Elec ,if thats who your talking about? they have been known to retrofit standing stock to suit the market.IE 22-407c.
But even 22-410a would be a bit much for them.
They were the manufacturer to make the biggest deal about the progression .regarding cross contamination and safety.

I believe the actual valve in the middle is the same, though as has been stated the threads are different.

I agree although ive heard stories that the seating spring has a different "spring tension"
But i dont buy that one as all the pressure should be behind the core:confused:
OH and only one size fits for a reason:p gauge wise that is as in hoses

If you mean the actual core, then yes they are physically the same size, although some may have different max working pressures..
