So.......got this Super Yacht that we are carrying out repairs on.

The current set up as follows.

Freezer room and coolroom have exactly the same components, with the orifice the only difference. R404a

Evap - ECO200ED - rated at aprrox 1 - 1.2 kw ish?

Danfoss TES2 TX - CR Orifice #4 6.08kw , FR Orifice #6 7.78kw.

Compressor DWM Copeland DKSJP-15X rated at 3.8kw medium and 1.6 kw low.

Given the complete inbalance of the systems, you'd think they wouldn't work, But yet they do, and quite well too. Aaaah the intricacies of refrigeration!

Hi Goober.
Did a similar set-up for the military years ago. They work a treat, medium to low temp compressor, dual TXV's low temp evap.. Electric defrost on low temp, air defrost on chill. They have been to more places on the planet than me. Run like a dream.
where is the problem.

Magoo, there was nothing wrong with the room themselves. Leaking seawater pipe between coolroom panel and hull. Filling up the bilge and coming up through rooms, Only access to repair pipe and inspect hull for corrosion from seawater was to rip out the rooms complete. then re install. Only access to the rooms for demmolition is though the coolroom door!. Great fun. Still we have the rooms out now and pipe being repaired. The real fun begins in re installing the rooms.

Other thing is...engineer doesn't like the wall mounted evaps, so we're changing them to ceiling wedge type ones. The new evap coils have one less row of pipes and just a smidgin shorter, but are rated the same as the originals. I am in a bit of a quandry as to weather to put in the same TX
/orifice set up or go with the closer rated 01 orifices for the new valves. But then as I've said, the original set up worked ok?
