cap tube sizing calculation

evening all, got lumbered with this one. need to replace a 3.5m 1.3mm inside diameter cap tube and need the lendths if having to use either .64 or .52
any ideas

Thanks for that link Brian, Ive downloaded the dancap programme and ive come up with an answer that i didnt expect. I expected as using a cap tube 50% smaller then the cap tube to be 50-60% ish shorter but this is what ive put and what its come up with. For the record the unit is a 3 half glass door freezer. Parameters ive put into the equasion are (And i dont think it makes a lot of difference anyway)
R404 This I know is correct
Evap temp -22f
Condenser temp 120
Return gas temp 0

3.5m of 1.20mm cap = .025m (25cm!!!) of .7mm cap

Can someone double check this for me as i seems VERY short

Some previous users of Dancap have commented on odd results. You may want to try the Coolit link I provided. The answers seems closer to what I found to work in the past.

hey, i have a condensor 5 pk sanyo. the condensor has no capiler tube.
im going to use daikin evaporator but it also has no cap tube
how long the additional cap tube should be if i want to put the cap tube in evaporator side???

I've used R407c since a year ago.
recently I get problems to get it.
Some suppliers offer me to use R404a.
which one is better between the two??
what is the effect to my compressors and my AC performance???

You can try tecumseh's capilary tube selection...

1.3mm is .054. .064 is 1.62mm
conversion factor is 2.20.
This would give you a length of 3.5m x 2.2
= 7.7m of .064

what size (cc) is the comp? we size our captubes on comp size and have vastly different lengths to the dancap results.
also are you running med or low temp?
is the evap single or multiple feed? i assume no distributor as they should be removed if not using a valve.
