View Full Version : Once registered a user name appears to be unchangeable?

Can anyone advise?
I know of at least 3 registered forum members that have had to re-register under a different email address.
Because they wished to change their user name and the system does not seem to allow this?
I know of one very experienced engineer that won't post because.
In his words he "foolishly registered his own name" and cannot now change it to an alias like most of us that use the forum.

I only know of 1 instance where a name change was requested and the request was granted by Webram.

Only Webram has the power to carry out the change but This was a long time ago and I'm not sure if the facility is still there since the software ws updated.

Thanks for the quick response Frank.
Would you please be able to ask what the options are?

Why don't you send Webram a PM and ask? ;)

I agree with Frank, a member asked me towards the end of last year to change his name and it was done without problems I think.

So it would appear all is not lost.
You just need to know who to ask!

Sounds a lot like being a Refrigeration Engineer to me.

whoever needs a name change, PM me and I will sort it out. It has to be the member themselves and not on behalf of someone.

I will pass this knowledge on and thanks for the input.
