hi all im new to the forum and if im posting in the wrong section im sorry in advance..

the problem is that ive aquired a jiangsu banshen ice maker.. im struggling to find information and parts for this unit.

the unit was short of gas and had a leak at the end of the capillary, i fixed the leak and gased it up it ran perfect for 2 cycles produced good solid clear ice no worries but on its third attemp the tray just continued to drop and rise time after time.

i switched the unit off and turned it back on again and now it only does this..

-ice tray drops and then rises
-the water fills to the correct level
-the compressor kicks in and runs great but as soon as this happens the agitators start turning and the tray drops before the ice can form.
-the tray will rise back up and continue to rise and fall rise and fall about 6 times and then throws on a fault light..

ive never done any thing with ice machines before i was hoping to learn with this one but im out of ideas.

any thoughts will be much appreciated.

im not familiar with this unit but i'd be looking faulty board or more likely a faulty sensor.

what does the tough use to know its full or empty? float sensors? or timed termination?

are the curtain switch(s) working?

condenser fan(s) cycling on pressure?

correct gas type and charge weighed into unit?

some brands are very specific about charge, if you disonnect your guages and loose abit of gas sometimes this is enough to upset machine.

you didnt fish this unit out of the floods did you?

it had a weighed in charge of r22. works with float sensors, which seem to be working correctly. condensor fan runs constantly its wired into the compressor feed.

and i didnt pull it out of the river.. hahaha

I came across a Uniflow ice maker today. Never worked on an ice machine like that, so I spent some time to figure it out. I fixed my thing. Your system seems to be similar to mine. Here is my take on that: There is a thermostat activating the tray, look closer, you will find it, it activates a switch, fing crazy...I know. Hope it helps.
