View Full Version : Chiller 30GX102 have alarm "Star-Delta start-up"

Hello everyone!
Chiller Carrier 30GX sometimes have alarm code 113 & 313: "Compressor A1 & B1 Star-Delta start-up failure". 02 Chillers has used 9 years old. They hadn't any privious that alarm. Althought,I replaced new SCPM board, new Contactors, new C.T... still happen it. Do anyone can help & give me the solution to solve that problem.
Notes: Chiller is modified to use the Motor Manager for each Compressor.

What is a motor manager? A softstart? If so, you've got the reason of your failure: softstarters need DOL start instead of Y/D start.

check the auxiliary contacts confirming the start signal and transition

is it not 2 contactors-part wind
3 contactors per compressor star delta

Carrier only use 2 contactors for Star Delta on these chillers and as for this motor manager i would remove that asap.

Your motor manager mentions its a direct on line starter (soft start) but the chiller seems to be configured for star delta. Have these alarms just started after this motor manager was fitted.
How many contactors do you have per compressor even better take a photograph and post it.
