looking for an apprenticeship

hi im josh i have just finished serving in the armed forces after 4 yrs i was in the royal engineers, i was a refregeration engineer but only completed a yr training as this is the army. i was told i would have suitable qaulifications to become a refrigeration engineer that was a lie so now im looking to start an apprentice but cant seem to find any companies that will offer me an apprenticeship. would really appreciate some advise. im from cheshire.
