hi brandy, when I started on fridge work I was working in pubs, on cellar cooling , where the evaps got blocked with green slime, we used the pipe cleaner that they used in there job to clean there beer pipes liquid coustic , it eats the alluminium if you leave it on too long but it dost a good cleaning job < safty glasses are a must< all the best , sedgy,

Use Citric Acid on the ice machine.

Vinegar, at a pinch. During my time in East Herts, I used vinegar occasionally to descale my kettle - when CLR wasn't available.

Scale is a large part of the non biological component of ice machine fouling.

@Brian: ever come across citric acid in the cleaning of a marine HEX? I went out on limb last year with it for a Titanium HEX.

Vinegar!

By far the best, cheapest and most available cleaner.

25% vinegar with warm water will clean, disinfect and remove bad odors.
