dear all,
ii just want to know the capacity of compressor and its motor size for manufacturing a 32 tos ice from water inlet temp 30'c and ice temp -5 'c at condensing temp is 40'c and evaporation temp of brine tank is -12 'c ...pleasae help or suggese

32000 Kg x 35K = 1.120.000 Kcal
Assuming you want to produce 35 tons of ice per day, the average cooling capacity required is 46666 Kcal/h = 54kW.
A suitable compressor with R404A refrigerant would be Z 25 103 Y from Frascold or 6H_25.2Y-40P from Bitzer or equivalent 25HP, 105m3/h compressor from other manufacturers

if you are talkin about block ice which i guess , you would roughly need about 35 tons by 1.6 TR compressor .

Alternatively , precool the water from 30 deg c to say 10 , will improve the quality of ice .

Would you please elaborate on this? How a 5kW cooling capacity compressor is going to freeze 32 or 35 tons of water in a any reasonable time?

Sounds like the UAE is about to get an ice-rink.

Yes, you will freeze the 32 tons of water in 5-6 hours with that compressor @ 1000rpm. But you can't use R404a because the compressor max pressure is 21 bar, so you have to use R134a.
